Testimonials

Gullah Grown. Gullah Great.

Located on St. Helena Island, in the heart of the Gullah Geechee corridor, the Gullah Farmers Cooperative Association works to support and sustain local and regional farmers. We offer support and tools that are vital for economic resilience and intergenerational stewardship. The Cooperative works to maintain cultural preservation, economic empowerment, access to grants, education and next-generation farming.

“There are only a small number of other groups in South Carolina that provide the quality and service needed for supplying of the produce they provide. Their brand and product have become more and more recognized; thus, it is quite inspiring to have the chance to increase both current and new sales in the sector. Our produce experience and working with the Cooperative enable us to know that the packaging and processing activities of The Gullah Farmers will meet an important need for small farmers in the area, particularly those socially disadvantaged farmers who are struggling to access markets.”
